Assessments

In order to offer individuals an opportunity to self-assess their equity capacity, we developed a small, and growing set of assessments.

  • The W.A.R.E. Assessment guides each person through a set of questions designed to think critically about their Willingness, Awareness and Readiness to discuss Equity. For the purpose of our assessment, Readiness is sub-divided into Racial Equity and Equity not related to Race. The numeric ratings provided at the end of this assessment are explained in the email you receive upon completion. We recommend using the What Can I Do Challenge as the natural progression to address the areas which you would like to improve.

  • The Workplace Equity Survey offers a few brief questions to consider the equity climate of your workplace. The survey is confidential. If you would like a summarized report of percentages, please email human@thequietrebel.org.

Equity Capacity Building

What we quickly came to realize was, although many individuals and organizations have a deep desire to address racial and cultural inequity, they are not fully equipped to do so.

Before we can establish rules, policies, procedures and guidelines, we need to know if we, ourselves, are able to hold the weight of carrying them out.

In our personal spaces:

We might believe ourselves to be supportive, compassionate people who believe in freedom, justice and equality. However, when we are faced with a real-life scenario involving injustice, impediments to freedom or inequality, how do we respond? How are our learned behaviors and lived experiences impacting our ability to embrace and equitable world?

In professional spaces:

Are we hoping to “solve” our equity problems by writing new policies? Are we actively seeking out the root causes of the issues in our work environments and address them honestly, or are we more interested in giving lip service and appearing to make improvements for which there is no personal or organizational accountability?

By centering lived experiences and asking the questions we might otherwise avoid, we help individuals and organizations increase their capacity for racial and cultural equity.

Each of these assessments can be personalized for your organization or community. Please schedule an inquiry call to discuss.
