Tuesdays with TJae: It's Cinco de Mayo & Taco Tuesday & Raining & There’s a Pandemic
Happy Cinco de Mayo & Taco Tuesday - Did you get tacos today? The sky cracked open in my part of town, so that might hinder my taco getting.
Anyway, there's more to share that's unrelated to either of those things, but wanted to get that off my chest first.
I'm not responsible for this image. I don't know who created it, so I cannot give them credit. I've seen it a few times and you may have seen it as well. It's a great tool (IMO) for checking in with yourself and asking one or two #biglifequestions.
Take a look at each of the zones listed here. Knowing that you may meander in and out of a zone, where would you say you are today?
I'm grateful that most days I'm on the border between learning & growth. If you're fearful - I get it. We spend a lot of our life in that space unless we actively decide otherwise. If that's your zone today, I'd invite you to breathe deeply, examine the things within your immediate control and then maybe take a baby step toward learning. Choose one thing from the fear zone that you can release and replace it with one thing from the learning zone.

100 Voices - Update. Thank you to everyone who participated in #100VoicesHTX Round 2. From these discussions, I learned that there's a yearning for deeper & continued conversations - stay tuned for how that looks - coming soon.

COVID-19 Experience Survey Invitation from UH Institute for Research on Women, Gender & Sexuality - The UH IRWGS Houston/Harris County Covid-19 Experience Survey documents the radical transformations in work experience created by the pandemic as well as challenges in such realms as childcare, food access, relationships, business, health and mental health, in order to help shape local response in the next phases.
The survey takes roughly 30 minutes to complete, with the option to join a $100-$500 gift card drawing. Data remains anonymous, and the survey is open through May 13.
