Tuesdays with TJae or Something Like That 2
Having hard conversations. Someone very close to me is facing a health crisis. This isn't the first time someone close to me has had a health crisis, but it IS the first time I was entrusted with the responsibility of being a Power of Attorney. This role comes with the weight of asking and answering some pretty difficult questions.
Can I tell you? Hard conversations are hard AND they must be had. Avoiding them just makes them harder in the end. Breathing helps. Take a few deep breaths and quiet your mind before you begin. Before you ask a hard question, or make a hard statement, hear how it sounds in your own thoughts and how you would feel on the receiving end. Also recognize that there is a heart on the other side of the conversation which is likely having just as much trouble with this as you are. Be patient and be kind. Just a thought.
So ummmm.... I am getting a chance to do this thing. On the 3rd Friday of each month from 1:30 - 2:00pm I'll be starting the convo on KPFT 90.1 FM. This month the conversation will be about cancer awareness. Be sure to check out the Quiet Rebel social media to learn about my guests for the first show and to join the conversation.
Listen Live - October 18th at 1:30pm
One last thing . . . sometime this week, you'll be in a conversation with someone and they will insist on having the last word - let them.
